It does t sound like she went to a foreign country for 4 weeks

She was drugged in a restaurant. The fella then spent a lot of time in her home drugging her.

At some point they had a trip abroad and then back.

Sounds grim.

Everyone knows that when a woman says "no" she really means "yes".

Mr - "Is it okay if I go down the pub with my mates luv?"
Doris - "No, you've got the shed to fix and the shelves are about to fall off the wall, and there's yadda yadda to do... etc"
Mr - "Right you are"
*Puts on jacket and goes to pub with his lady's blessing*

Re: Singer Duffy Rape Ordeal
Pedant.

I would hesitate to call the girl a liar, but to be fair her own account of what happened to her does raise an eyebrow.

Put it this way: how easy do you think it would be to drug a woman to the point she is physically under your control and insensible to the extent she has no recollection of an airport or trip on an aeroplane? You would also have needed her passport. You would have had to get this drugged and insensible woman through check-in, security, to board the plane and get her in and out of her seat (did she wee herself at any point, or did you know via telepathy to take her to the lav?) all without anybody noticing or challenging you as to what's wrong with your travelling companion.

Then she mentions that while in this mystery 'foreign country' she had an opportunity to raise the alarm but did not do so because she was afraid she might have already been reported as a missing person. What?? That is the opposite of logical. I can't think of any reason why a kidnap/rape victim's reaction would not be to survive and be rescued, even if it could be embarrassing in terms of press coverage.

Very little of her account makes sense unless you allow for the possibility that either she was really raped, but her story has been embellished (for whatever reason) or that she at least partially willingly went with the bloke (drink, drugs, sex, whatever) and it's buyer's remorse. And I totally agree it's a woman's right to consent to some stuff, but not other stuff, and to say stop halfway through.

I'm not comparing the crimes. I am comparing people's tendency to rush to judgement. Wrongly as it happened with Jones.

Re: Singer Duffy Rape Ordeal
Could have been private jet, but she still would have to get through customs, and drugged up??!?
Not hard to think this is bullshit and how can you compare rape to the minor slap Owen Jones got!

Quite.
Echoes of Owen Jones' 'fabrication' that turned out not to be fabricated at all.

Missing for 4 weeks but no one noticed? A famous singer?

Managed to get on a plane, through passport control, sit through a flight, passport control the other end, all being drugged up/out of it...and no one questioned it?

Or Scotland!

I’m not saying something unpleasant didn’t happen to her but...

Mental health issues + drug and alcohol issues = fuckry

Anyone been out with a bird with a properly broken brain?

Amazing the absolute carnage they can cause isn’t it?

All very convenient, with new material out....

How does someone get drugged and forced on a commercial flight, going through passport control etc, without SOMEONE/anyone noticing...
